It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter J. Boiano Jr., who left this world on October 12, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on February 17, 1967, in Rochester, New York, Peter was a man whose presence could light up any room known for his endless wisdom, optimism, and the kind of charisma that drew people in wherever he went. Peter was the definition of genuine. Blunt yet deeply compassionate, sharp-minded yet lighthearted, he had an uncanny ability to speak truth with warmth and insight. His words carried meaning — always layered with wisdom, humor, and love. He lived life with a rare optimism, facing each day with strength and an open heart. Peter’s passions reflected his vibrant spirit. He loved a good movie, appreciated the timeless energy of rock and roll, and cherished his comic book collection, which he began as a teenager and kept with pride. He also had a love for cars. His appreciation for these things showed the depth of a man who knew how to enjoy every moment. Peter was deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his family.
He is survived by his devoted children — his son Jered Boiano, and his beloved stepdaughters Liz Ortiz, Lydia Rivera, Gloria Murphy, and Marilyn Ortiz. He is also survived by his siblings Julio Boiano, Lisa Boiano, Tina Boiano, and Shawn Boiano, who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude. Peter leaves behind a legacy of love that continues through his nephew , including Julian Post-Boiano, and his great-nephews Kentrell Boiano and Averion Boiano — who will grow up hearing stories of his strength, humor, and the light he brought into every life he touched. He was a proud grandfather to Dimitri Murphy, Morgan Murphy, Madison Murphy, Dominick Murphy, Melanie Rivera, Mila Rivera, and King Harold, all of whom brought endless joy and purpose to his life. His heart was full whenever he spoke of his family, and his love for them was unwavering. Peter now reunites in eternal peace with his late father, Peter J. Boiano Sr., and rests in the continued love of his mother, Nilda Rose Boiano, who holds his memory close.
Peter’s impact will never fade; he was a man who loved deeply, lived boldly, and left behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love. His spirit remains in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Peter’s story continues through the family he loved so fiercely and the memories that will forever echo his voice, laughter, and light. Forever loved. Forever remembered. Rest in peace, Peter. Your light lives on ,and in us all
