Connie Jean (Dederick) Bongiovanni

March 18, 1948 — June 2, 2025

With broken hearts and boundless love, we announce the unexpected passing of Connie Bongiovanni on June 2, 2025. Though her time on Earth ended far too soon, her life was filled with love, grounded in faith, and defined by the kindness she gave so freely to everyone she met.

Born on March 18, 1948, Connie was raised in Rochester, New York, where her deep compassion and strong devotion to family first took shape. In her late teens, she moved to Arcade, New York, before making her way to Norristown, Pennsylvania in 1975—a place she would lovingly call home for much of her life. It was there that she raised her beloved daughter, Carrie, and built a beautiful home filled with laughter, warmth, and love.

Connie was a devoted mother to Carrie and a loving mother-in-law to Chris. But perhaps the greatest joy of her life was being Mumzie to her two grandsons, Rhys and Roen, who were her heart and soul. Her love for them was deep, unconditional, and joyfully loud—she cherished every moment, every laugh, every hug. Her grandsons and her daughter, were the joy of her life — her greatest accomplishment. Nothing made Connie prouder than watching them grow, love, and thrive. In them, she saw the best parts of herself, and through them, her legacy lives on.

Connie shared a timeless and tender bond with her beloved late partner, Rocky — a love rich with cherished memories. From weekend escapes to the shore, to nights spent dancing, to laughter shared over meals. Their time together was a sanctuary of joy, where her heart was most at home and her soul deeply at peace.

At the end of her life, Connie returned to her hometown of Rochester, where she spent her final years surrounded by the comfort of family — especially the close companionship of her sister Terrie. These years were filled with reflection, peace, and love, continuing the legacy of warmth she had spread throughout her life.

Connie is survived by her daughter Carrie Keegan, son-in-law Chris, her two beloved grandsons Rhys and Roen; her sisters, Jackie Dederick-Straub and Terrie Dederick-Crane; her brother, Dan Dederick; as well as many nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who adored her and were forever changed by her love.

She is preceded in death by her mother Alice Jean Norris Dederick, her father Jack Parker Dederick, and loving partner Rocky Iannuzzi. A woman of deep faith, Connie believed in the promise of Heaven, and we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace — reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly, held in God’s eternal embrace.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Connie’s memory by extending kindness to others — just as she always did — or by taking a quiet walk by the ocean, where her spirit will always be near.

Connie Bongiovanni — our beloved Mumzie, mother, sister, aunt, and friend — lived a life of selfless love, enduring faith, and quiet strength. Her legacy is not only in what she gave, but in how she made us feel: loved, seen, and cherished.

Her light remains. Her love endures. And her spirit lives on in all of us — always.
