Obituary for Tonya Rivers Cyrkin
Tonya Rivers Cyrkin, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2018 with her husband by her side. She is survived by her husband, Josh; son, Alex and daughter, Haylie. She is also survived by her parents, Sandy and Ed Granville; sister Tammy (Tracy). In addition, she is survived by several cousins, and her beloved pets Skyy and Bailey.
Tonya faced each hurdle without hesitation. Her determination, courage and strength prolonged her life against an aggressive and debilitating cancer beyond what was predicted. She took charge of her treatment and with the help of her exceptional medical team at the Wilmot Cancer Center, Strong Memorial Hospital, did everything she could to live. She went through many horrific procedures, including the partial removal of her spinal cord.
Through it all, she persevered. Working from home, caring for her family, and battling cancer.
Tonya took every opportunity she could to get out and enjoy life. She loved going to concerts, seeing her talented daughter, Haylie, play music, and going out to eat with family and friends. Her love of life, family, and her incredible strength will be the things that she is remembered for the most.
Thank you to the East Rochester Community for your unwavering support. Tonya considered you all family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to www.addingcandles.com or Hildebrandt Hospice Center.
