Obituary for Robert (Bob) Wendell Stone
Victor, NY: Passed away peacefully at age 83. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn L. Stone; parents, Barbara and Rolland Stone; sisters, Nancy (Wayne) Evans and Marcia (Richard) Swett. Robert is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Ben) Briggs, Carrie (Luis) Coreas; grandchildren, Ryan, Molly, Robert, Joaquin, Josefina and Olive; siblings, Patricia (Carl) Adams, Sylvia (Harold) Clark, Charles (Lauren) Stone, James (Bonnie) Stone; sister-in-law, Sheila Stone; nieces and nephews; extended family.
Robert graduated from University of Vermont, where he was captain of the football team and president of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Bob’s professional career focused around agriculture; teaching at Lyndon Institute, then working for Farm Credit, Telmark of Agway, and serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture for the State of Vermont. Bob and Marilyn followed their passion and opened and ran Cedar Circle Farm in East Thetford, VT from 1982-2000; an operation that grew from a folding table to multiple farm stand locations, greenhouses and wholesale markets.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Farmington United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 17th at 2:00 PM. A celebration of life will also take place in early July at the Thetford Congregational Church in Thetford, VT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Thetford Academy, Attn: Development Office, 304 Academy Road, Thetford Center, VT 05075.
