Obituary for Marvin McIntyre
Marvin H. McIntyre, K2ZAA
Predeceased by his wife, Constance, sons Robert and Dale, foster sons Jimmy and John Oleksyn, and grandson Benjamin Budynski.
Marvin McIntyre, 76, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his children, Cora (Ralph) Fleming, Rebecca (Joseph) Chalone, John (Allison) McIntyre, and Paul (Jennifer) McIntyre, 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Marvin and Connie were parents and home to dozens more children, students, family and friends. For decades, their nine bedrooms were full of those in their care and love.
Born in Vestal, NY, he met his wife, Connie, at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY before graduating from the University of Rochester and Nazareth College. Marv had many careers in his adventure-filled life, including at Monroe County Civil Defense where he served as the Communications and Warning Officer during Hurricane Agnes in 1972 and the 1974 canal break in Bushnell Basin. ‘Mr. Mac’ taught high school English and Special Education for 2 years at North Rose-Wolcott CSD and from 1979-1997 at West Irondequoit CSD. Marv also owned and operated many business ventures during his life, including TADA Communications, Inc. from 1981-2016.
A member at Northridge Church for almost 45 years, Marvin committed his life to living out his faith by serving and loving his family, community, and those around him in need. Marv was an EMT and charter member at Irondequoit Volunteer Ambulance, served as the Commander of the Rochester Composite Squadron in Civil Air Patrol, and was avidly engaged in the Amateur Radio community since the age of 12. Marv leaves behind many lives he has touched, taught, mentored, sheltered, adopted, took in and loved.
