Rochester: Karen McAllister, an amazing mother, wife, nana, and friend, passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 60 surrounded by her loved ones after a brief battle with cancer.
Karen dedicated her life to others. In times of need she was always there to lend a hand, the shirt off her back, the last dollar in her pocket, or a listening ear with a cup of coffee. She could always be relied on by everyone, friends and strangers alike. Once she welcomed into her family she would go to the ends of the earth for you.
Her true passion was her family and all of those she considered family. Karen is survived by her husband James, and her children Richard (Wendy), Michele (Daryl), Brandi (her favorite child, Dan), Brittany, and Jessica (Sean). As well as her pride & joy, her grandchildren Kailyn, Hunter, Anthony, Jaxson, Giavanna, Cassidy and William. Also, the many she collected along the way.
When she wasn’t driving her school bus, Karen spent most of her days going to estate sales, refinishing furniture, and crocheting. She especially loved watching the sun rise over the lake in the morning.
To honor her memory, a celebration of life will be held on February 24, 2023, at Glendoveer’s, 2328 Old Browncroft BLVD. from 1 pm-4 pm. We invite everyone to come and remember her and her legacy. In place of flowers, please donate to Mary Cariola Children’s Center, Camp Good Days, or a charity of your choice in her honor.
