Obituary for Herman W. (Walt) Timm
Passed away on 5/27 at the age of 61 at his home in Spencerport, N.Y..
Born in Germany, he came to the U.S. with his parents and lived in Waterbury, Connecticut until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Walt graduated from Crosby H.S. and began his Navy career in Norfolk, Va. He was stationed in Newquay, Cornwall - U.K. where he met his wife and later moved back to Hampton, Va.
A retired Navy veteran, he served in the military for 22 years. Walt moved to Rochester, N.Y. in 2008. He worked for Wegmans as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 118.
Predeceased by his mother, Silvia Timm; wife, Verle Timm; and grandparents, Herman & Annmarie Heeschen. He leaves behind his dad, Walter Timm; 2 sisters; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
Walt will be taken out on his final deployment at sea with his shipmates. He will embark out of his first deployment of Norfolk, Va where his shipmates will board him until his burial at sea.
He was a very proud veteran and a great friend to many and will be missed deeply.
A celebration of Walt’s life will be held at a later date.
